A different view
by Jerry
I've been living in Melawati for most of my life, save a few when I was studying. Growing it was a truly memorable place, refreshing, green fauna along the road home , with yellow flowers blooming and falling in season. But now the flowers have gone, is just a big tree. At the same time people used to laugh at us, as kids who grew up near the zoo(hence the birthday songs)...I for one welcome the developments. Is about time. Now people would know where is Melawati lah!

Our dear, dear, Taman Melawati hill...
by Elaine Ho
Taman Melwati..A place so beautiful and exotic. But the natural beauty will soon to be destroyed, sad to say. We, as a melawatian, must support this cause and stop them from cutting more trees and destroying the natural beauty of our dear Taman Melawati hill. I went for a drive today and noticed that the views of the ever so beautiful landscape has gone. The natural oxygen supply of Taman Melawati is slowly dying because we are lacking on trees. So, stop this from happening! Stop this hill from being developed! We must save Taman Melawati while it is still here! Melawati is a place where my life started but I doubt that it will be the place that my life ends but, this is a place I will treasure with my life because of my past and also my present. So, I'm all for this! May god hear our prayers and stop nuisance immediately.

Another development taking place at Jalan P
by ashraf
I noticed that there is this new development of bungalow units at Jalan P. Is this lot a " tanah persendirian" ? Or the land title has been changed ? I believe as this is the area that is in close proximity with the Klang Gate Dam, there shouldn't be any new development taking place, lest they forget that this is a water cathment area.

Melawati..
by Nurul Hana Zakariah
i've been at Taman Melawati for almost ten years now and i LOVE this place. Taman Melawati was once green and so peaceful.. i love the fresh air that i held a long time ago. Now, almost all hills are no longer green. i know that it is important for us to have some improvements 4 our little world here at Melawati but...it's getting ridiculous!! all the greens are now brown n dusty!! So now, i'd like to represent the youth of Melawati n ask 4 all Melawatians to stand up and let us be heard.. SAVE TAMAN MELAWATI, SAVE OUR HERITAGE!!

May the Force be with you in your quest to save this small piece of wildspace from the incessant march led by hominids who have misguidedly severed their links with the natural environment.

Human has Destroyed Much of Nature.
by Tham Chee Keong
When will humans start to repair the repairable damages?; Who are the most destructive humans on earth? What must the responsible humans do NOW? Humans should 'colonise' only a part of earth and leave the rest untouched for the other living beings. A 'colonised territory' will have every thing that human needs to live, to breed & to develop.

Save Taman Melawati Hill
by Pauline Wong
'Mother Earth has enough for Man's needs, but not for man's greed.' Mahatma Ghandi said that, and how apt! As the green in our lives get swallowed by the cold grey of concrete, can we seek any other explanation but greed? Developers chase for profits and build where they shouldn't; is this development or destruction? The hill remains the only place where we can still breath clean air and not dirty smog. I've walked up the hill for nearly 10 years now; I've seen trees fall, landslides and even small waterfalls dry up. I hope that everyone who reads my comment will help me to fight this in my own small way. I will be writing an article about this issue and I beg anyone who has a thought to share to share them with me. Those who walk up the hill will recognise me as the tall girl with the white dog. I can be reached via my email at ithildin_3@yahoo.com. Lets leave a green heritage behind, and not jungles of stone and mortar.

Thanks a Million
by Rudy NG
To the Committee Members of Save Taman Melawati Hill, Thanks a Million for taking your personal time, effort, money, etc in saving Taman Melawati Hill. My wife grew up in Taman Melawati and we only recently moved to Prima Villa, Saujana Melawati after spending a few years staying in Puchong, Subang Jaya and Taman Desa. We did a few Sunday evening walks up Melawati Hill and it would be such a shame if the place is developed into another gated community. Keep up the good work and we will try to support. Best Regards Rudy NG

another bungalow development near melawati
by resident
I have been jogging almost everyday. I also cycle and I love to take a rest near Jalan P area there there is a river flowing and the peace and quiet of the hill so refreshing. Now a barricade has been put up and a 21 lot bungalow is going to be built. The sign is already up. SAD! I thought out hills is most unique in the world and once an article was written that there are flora and fauna that can only be found here. Then what about no more approval of hillside project that was mentioned in the past. All empty talks. What is the govt doing? Why not save our hills and nature? In the name of money anything can be done. In time to come we will suffer our own consequences.

I seriously think that this campaign is a very important as taman melawati hill(fasa 3) is one of the best place here. It brings me a lot of memories since when i was 3. I still remember when my father hold my hand and bring me for a walk on the top of the hill watching people doing taichi and sometimes we used to jog together to the top of the hill. There are a lots more and I can't forget all those sweet memories. PLEASE SAVE TAMAN MELAWATI HILL!

Dear Taman Melawati; With Love: Subang Jaya
by subang-ian
FROM SUBANG JAYA TO TAMAN MELAWATI Dear Mr. Developer, Before you put anything on paper, Please listen to our plea, The residents of melawati want you to see. To the hill we go, When we feel low. To the hill we go, When we feel so-so. To the hill we run, When we are filled with joy and all we want is fun. It's a hill for all seasons, It's a hill for all citizens. If you take our hill down, All our memories of it will drown. Memories that you can't buy with money, Memories that taste sweeter than honey Please don't take away our hill, For it's our only place to chill. Subang-ian

I really think it was a right way to start this website..... This really made me aware that... > Malaysia does have places that is a some-of-a-kind treasure > Malaysia is a place that 'traveling' birds visit for years > tmn melawati hill CAN attract lots of human n birds n even monkeys > there are protected species like The Dusky Leaf Monkeys in Tmn Melawati Hill I support that taman melawati hill should be KEPT... :) :) :) KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK :) :) :) I will also ask my frenz to visit this website....

Save Taman Melawati
by Dianne Fenwick
I feel I had to write to congratulate all the people who are doing a positive act in trying to save "the Green Lung of Taman Melawati". I live in London UK and for many year I use to stay with friends - Mr. & Mrs. Alagendranathan, sadly Mr. Nathan passed away 7 years ago. They lived in Phase 4 Taman Melawati. His wife now lives in the UK and every year we return to Malaysia. I have many very happy memories of times spent in Taman Melawati, and it would be a real lost to lose this oasis that is special to the surrounding area. To build on this hill, is both stupid and cruel to both Human's and animals. How many more people will be injured or kill due to landslides??? Plus the lost of wildlife and flora and fauna. Please do not turn the natural beauty spots of Malaysia into a giant concret jungle. As a Tourist my main reasons for visiting Malaysia is the wonderful variety of Wildlife and plants. Properly managed these natural beauty-spots could bring a good income into the surrounding area's. All Best Wishes and good Luck in keeping Taman Melawati "Special and Unique forever". Thanks Dianne

Tmn Melawati Hill
by Chris Koh
As a avid hill climber, I am very fond and familiar with Tmn Melawati hill otherwise known as Bukit Tabur amonst hikers. Bukit Tabur being located conveniently in the heart of KL is one of the most scenic and easily accessible places for a morning hike and as a place to train. If they develope the place and turn it into yet another concrete jungle, then the one of the biggest green lungs in KL will be destroyed along with all it's natural beauty and charm. I have also heard Bukit Tabur is one of Malaysia's largest limestone deposits. Save the hill! Say NO to development in that area! Tell us what we need to do to stop them from ravaging this natural beauty!
