I am in the marketing industry.
I know of someone personally who is involved in the marketing and advertising for
some of these developers, especially the projects in the Melawati. She revealed to
me that, the developers might have already reserved some blocks for whoever that has
approved this project, and of course they won't reveal that to the public. But if
you are experienced enough, by looking at the development plan, you can tell. There
are always some blocks being reserved that are not for sale...
I have mentioned before in one of our previous meeting that unless you guys bring
this to the opposition party ( this was before the recent GE) and fight it at that
level, you stand no chance at all in winning the game, because whether we like it or
not, this whole thing is political by nature.
In the past, the developers knew how to play this kind of game well. They would
pretend as if they care by having some meetings with you guys, but at the back, the
projects are moving as usual. Nothing changed.
They know that by dragging it long enough, they would eventually, somehow or rather,
push it through, and there is nothing the people can do about it. After 3 or 4
years the press would also tired of reporting the news. When all the dust settle
down, then they would go ahead for the project. As someone who is involved in
marketing with developers, we see that happen again and again...
Just look at the famous chinese school in Damansara that has been closed down. Have
you ever wonder why it take so long to reopen? It is the same case. A developer was
interested in that piece of land and of course promised a share of profit with
whoever was responsible for approving that plan.
By having protests, collecting signatures, organizing regular activities and
complaining through a website won't do a damn thing to change anything- I have heard
these developers speak before- they are not affraid of you guys. They have the
authority backing them up. Who are the Rakyat? If they were to go ahead to build
it- just tell me one thing-WHAT CAN YOU DO? Kill them? Bring them to court? they
have more money than you guys and the judges are also their friends.
And I can tell you, there are already a few projects planned by a few developers,
waiting to take over melawati. In no time the nature and the green that you love so
much would be gone!
Of course, this was how thing used to work and these guys are so used to this kind
of "win-win" arrangement with the local authority.
But now, things are different. Because of the recent GE, we have a different
leadership who took over, and run things differently. They have no special interest
in these projects and care more for the people.
If you guys don't take advantages of the political advantages, I ensure you, nothing
would happen and you stand no chance to go against them.
Believe me, I have seen many projects like these approved in the past and according
to my internal info, the marketing and advertsing plan for the current project in
Melawati still on. My friend just met them few weeks ago and they are just buying
time. The next coming hearing is only a show. They already make up their mind and
nothing can change them.
There is only ONE way to stop them. In the past this option is not available, but
now its made available and possible for us.
