| Keep it as it is |

Melawati has been a nice place to stay in when I was studying there. It's
still the best. Air is cool and fresh there. If you are lucky sometimes you
get to see some different animals running around. I love it because its the
only green lung in the whole of KL. Do not turn it into another PJ town. The
natural hills and the zoo needs everything to be in place.
Leave it alone, please!

| inform our KSN of our plight |

I read somewhere in the news ( The Sun), that KSN himself has said that MPAJ
has a lot of corrupted officers. He vowed to fight this until the end, would
be worth an effort if we could extend this petition to him also...:)

I've just read about your petition drive at:
http://harismibrahim.wordpress.com/2007/12/10/save-taman-melawati-hill
where there was a commentator, Rights Seeker, who made some suggestions which,
perhaps, can be helpful in your endeavor.
I'm a resident at Taman Melawati, since August '06, and would like to help the TMRA
in any way possible to spread news on saving the hill.
Please send me an e-mail in this regard.
Thank you.

| YB |
| by Pak 'Mat |
|
The YB who came to see us and talk to us at the Jalan E playing field hall was
a brave man. We hope that he can be as brave when talking to his underlings
on the various councils in the area.
I will iterate my statement from that evening that all councils and government -
national and local, irrespective of whether they are elected or nominated, have a
duty of care to the health welfare and well-being of all their constituents. This
health concerns emotional as well as mental and physical and does not stop short at
making sure the street lights work and that the grass verges are kept trimmed. The
only transparency within the councils is that they are not interested in the people,
they are only interested in developing their own image and well-being. How else do
you account for the many landslips of 'developed' hill slopes; some of these
avalanches of mud and concrete have cost lives (Highland Towers and Kampong Pasir)
that have been entirely wasted if their sacrifice is not taken into account during
the planning phases. Not that I should ever consider that 'planning' is a word that
enters into these developments other than:
Step 1: Open wallet.
Step 2: Fill wallet
Step 3: Sign approval forms.
Your initial correspondent who moved to Latland probably took the wisest course but
giving up is playing into the hands of the already cash rich.
Just humour me, here. What is the justification for building more houses when there
are people already here who are trying to sell houses but cannot? Surely the market
must be flooded - or close to being saturated.

| Suggestion |
| by Kean |
|
I would suggest you to send the memorandum to the Sultan of Selangor rather
then sending it to the Minister of Environment. It would be even better if you
can send it to our Agong (like what Bersih did, a mass rally). Why wasting all
the effort sending it to our lazy and useless minister who only know how to
talk rubbish. Who do you think he will help, you or UMNO link businessman who
was BEHIND this project?
Better act fast before next year general election arrive. When UMNO/BN win again
next year, they will show their true 'belang' and I can confirm Taman Melawati Hill
will be chop till 'botak'.
